The Story
Bornmobile.com started in 2001 to bring content to users that were passionate about mobile technology. The site really started to take off in 2004 when we were noted as one of the top sites to visit for mobile news and reviews. Millions of people visited our page daily and flocked to our forums to interact with the editors and each other.
In 2005, Born Mobile went into hibernation and was purchased by a company and used for ad space. The passion never left the creator of Born Mobile and the site was brought back to life in 2010. Bornmobile.com still has some of the same editors that started Born Mobile almost 10 years ago!
We’ve brought on some new team members and have stepped up the game in journalism. We’re going to have a hands-on aspect with everything we do. Our users will be our foundation; they will play into everything that we do. If we realize that our viewers don’t like certain topics, we’ll cut the topics and move on to a better subject.
The new Born Mobile will have a different spin from other sites. Our staff will be split into groups, i.e. Android, Apple, etc. Any review that’s done by an Android user, will also pass to an iPhone (Apple) user, etc. This is so that you get an equal view of the product and to ensure that all items are fairly reviewed and do not have any bias spin.
Not only will we be doing cellular devices, we’ll be hands-on with anything involving mobile technology. It could be a laptop, tablet, carrying case, etc., we’ll review it and have news regarding it. Our goal is to make this your one-stop shop for anything mobile.

Tim was born outside of Pittsburgh, PA. He’s one of the original founders of Born Mobile and re-opened the site in 2010. He’s extremely passionate about mobile technology. Everyone says they see him with a new phone every other week, which probably isn’t far from the truth.
Other than being a huge geek, he enjoys watching sports. Some of his favorite teams are (oh boy) the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Mike Craven

Mike Craven has grown up with technology. He has evolved with computers and mobile electronics his entire life. Not only is Mike a great editor he’s extremely talented in reverse engineering products. He can effortlessly tear apart any phone and identify all parts of the device.
Mike will be a key element here at Born Mobile to help keep our staff diverse. Some of his hobbies include cars, playing Xbox and building/modifying computers.
Trevor Hesskew

For several years Trevor has excelled in learning about new technology. He has obtained certificates from many manufacturers such as Microsoft, Blackberry and Google.
Trevor has experience working in the corporate wireless business for more than two years. Trevor also is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loves to work out and play his Xbox.
Joe Conti

Joe grew up in a small city about an hour outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Throughout his teenage years he always loved computers and technology. Even though he got his first cell phone at the age of 18, Joe manages to stay on top of the mobile world in part thanks to his job, where he is a Systems Administrator.
Despite the “IT Guy” moniker, Joe enjoys spending time with friends, watching hockey, going on roadtrips, and playing video games.
Justin Oliva

Justin Oliva was born and raised in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in Criminology and Safety Sciences, but then decided to pursue his passion for the field of Emergency Management and Public Safety. Justin currently works in Emergency Management, and stays active on the side as a firefighter.
As a young boy, technology always amazed Justin. The endless possibilities and how technology can be intertwined into anything has always kept his imagination on edge. Justin is constantly surrounded by technology on a day-to-day basis and is a true mobile geek at the end of the day.
Justin is part of the original Born Mobile team from when the site launched in 2001. As you see, the passion never left him, and he returns 10 years later for the rebirth of Born Mobile.
Joe Polansky

Joe Polansky has been specifically interested in cellular devices for more than eight years. He’s one of our editors who doesn’t necessarily go to bed thinking about phones, but he’s always interested in the newest and latest device. We brought Joe P. on board to give a more broad view of how “normal consumers” would view devices. Having Joe P. as an editor will give viewers that “other than geek” view on all devices. He’s also contributing to reviews of cases and portable music devices.
On Joe’s free time, he enjoys watching football and hockey. He also enjoys playing darts, shuffleboard and bocci.
